Cooney & Conway attorney Judy Conway participated in a panel discussion at a “Lunch and Learn” forum hosted by the Illinois State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division on Wednesday, March 28, at the ISBA Chicago Regional office.
Conway was one of four panelists in a question-and-answer session covering tips and tricks for solo legal practitioners and small law firms. The other panelists were Stephanie Garces, Terrill Wilkins, and Natali Marquez-Ponce. Specific topics included transitioning from a larger law firm to a smaller firm or individual practice, and the resources available to solo attorneys and small firms, such as using Fastcase for legal research and discussion groups to ask for advice from other attorneys who share your area of practice.
“I’m proud to be a part of the Young Lawyers Division Council of the ISBA because it promotes collegiality where members share practical insight and advice that has helped me become a better lawyer, and I’m always happy to do the same for others,” Conway said.
All who attended enjoyed a free lunch, and gained valuable tips for their practice, the chance to ask the panelists questions, and mingled after the panel concluded.
