Michael Cooney represents victims of serious injuries and wrongful death. Michael devotes his practice to victims of asbestos exposure, toxic chemicals, and corporate negligence. Michael has worked on behalf of union tradesmen and women, military servicemen and women, and the family members of people exposed to harmful toxins.
His cases have resulted in multi-million-dollar recoveries for dozens of his clients, including numerous recoveries in excess of $5 million. Michael has also tried a case on behalf of a widow whose husband was secondarily exposed to asbestos, which resulted in a $30 million recovery for the family. In addition to his work on behalf of asbestos victims, Michael also represents victims of Mass Torts, construction liability, premises liability, and motor vehicle negligence.
Prior to joining Cooney & Conway, Michael worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he tried numerous cases and litigated contested motions. Michael received his B.A. from Boston College, and his J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri, and is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
